Jill Michell’s paintings are a foray into the modes of representational painting. Jill received a BFA in painting from the University of MN and continued her education by studying a traditional approach to Plein Air and Still Life painting. She has exhibited her work at Zachary Ltd., Gallery 360, Groveland Gallery, Katherine Nash Gallery, Minneapolis College of Art & Design, and has had numerous studio exhibitions in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Jill’s work is part of the permanent collection at the University of Minnesota.  She was a finalist for the Jerome Grant of Emerging Artists.  She received her MA in Art Education from the University of MN and has been a Teaching Artist in the Twin Cities for 20 years.

Currently, Jill’s paintings may be seen in Minneapolis at Zachary Ltd and Loons Coffee. Beginning on September 24, 2026, she’ll be displaying new bird paintings at Isles Studio in Minneapolis.
